What Motivate End-Users To Transfer Gained Knowledge From Enterprise Systems Training?

چکیده
Organisational motivations for adopting Enterprise Systems (ES) include the achievement of a competitive advantage in production and provision of better control on operations. In spite of its contributions to business successes, an estimated 5075% of ES projects failed to justify the enormous financial investment into the projects. Research has attributed ES failure to training-related factors. Suggesting the criticalness of training and education in Enterprise System success; nonetheless enterprise systems researchers have constantly ignored training potential on post adoption behaviours. Regardless of the importance of ES training, it is noted that users resist and hesitate to apply gained skills on the systems. The disproportionate use of learned skills results in low utilisation of the systems and partly ES failures. Post training behaviours are critical in the ES success; however knowledge on the determinants of transfer of skills and knowledge gained from enterprise systems training environment is scarce. This study proposes a model of motivational mechanism of effective use of skills and knowledge in Enterprise Systems.

متن کاملMotivational Determinants of Training Utilisation in Enterprise Systems
System utilisation is important for enterprise systems (ES) implementations to succeed. However, even though users may have undergone training on these systems, they may not decide to apply the skills they have learned. This affects the benefits that can accrue to firms from their IT investments, as well as being a waste of the time and money spent on training. We interviewed end-users of enter...

This paper extends the definition and role of Enterprise Modelling (EM), and describes recent research results that have lead to the definition of the next generation of what the authors call Visual Enterprise Scenes (EVS). The focus is on the transition from EM to EVS and what the implications will be for industry, developers of solutions, system providers, future users and user communities, a...
متن کاملTransferring Problem Solving Strategies from the Expert to the End Users - Supporting Understanding
If knowledge sharing between people in an organisation is to be encouraged, new types of systems are needed to transfer domain knowledge and problem-solving strategies from an expert to the end users and, thereby, make the knowledge available and applicable in a specific domain. If it is to be possible to apply the knowledge in the organisation, the systems will need a means of illustrating the...
